Sweet Star Invasion was the name of the Japanese fashion mixer at Okashicon 2023! The mixer always takes place on Sunday of the convention as a fun way to end the weekend. As the name implies, the theme was space. Guests of honor for this event included 6%dokidoki, Haruka Kurebayashi, Puvithel, Candy Trap, and Devilish Angel.

The mocktail bar is a highlight of every Okashicon mixer! The drinks were out of this world. Food was a full breakfast buffet for brunch enthusiasts.
The staff introduced the guests to get the party started.
In the front of the room laid so many raffle prizes! Since Okashicon is a fashion forward event, there’s always a ton of prizes. The featured guest brands all donated prizes. Some indie brands such as MintyMix, Ugly Plants, and PreciousBbyz also donated prizes.
The party had fun mini games. One involved testing your aim by shooting aliens with a nerf gun.
The party this year had beats by DJs! The first DJ was Rubab from Fake Star.
The second DJ was Sebastian Masuda making his overseas DJ debut! Sebastian performs in Tokyo somewhat frequently.

My favorite part of the event is seeing everyone’s creativity shine through their outfits! Here are a few I managed to photograph.
The mixer is always a ton of fun. Weird stuff happens and it’s a vibe. The relaxed atmosphere made it really easily to socialize.
At the end, the Okashicon staff presented Sebastian Masuda and Haruka Kurebayashi with gifts. Sebastian received a photobook from the community and Haruka received a pair of cute cow slippers!

Okashicon’s J-fashion mixer is always so lively. The guest lineup is great, the food is plentiful, and the community is so chill. I highly recommend for all J-fashion fans to attend!
