Haru Nemuri is a Japanese musician with a style that combines J-pop, rap, electronica, and post-hardcore elements. She released her latest album Shunka Ryougen in April 2022 and was supposed to originally tour in 2022, but had to postpone due to circumstances. The Shunka Ryougen 2023 North America tour kicked off with the first stop at Scout Bar in Houston on 03/05/23.
I discovered her through an ad, so I decided to check her out! It’s hard for me to describe her music. To me, it was like hardcore J-pop; a mix of dark fantasy, poetic lyrics, and emotionally captivating screaming. It’s delicate and intense at the same time.
Some of the songs in her setlist included Sanctum Sanctorum, Ikiru, Narashite, Never Let You Go, Inori Dake Ga Aru, and Who the fuck is burning the forest?.
