For one day only, ShareTea Pearland and Sando Gang HTX will collaborate to make Houston’s first boba sando. The pop-up will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 starting at noon until sellout.
Sando Gang HTX is one of Powered by Rice HTX’s pop-up concepts. Owner Yusuke Motozawa is a Japanese chef in Houston whose mission is to serve true Japanese food to the city. His brands include Powered by Rice HTX, Sando Gang, a Japanese sandwich concept, and Hako Bento, a lunch bento box concept. At his previous pop-up, Sando Gang made the creative wagyu sando afternoon tea set.
Sando is the Japanese word for sandwich, both savory and sweet. The most eye-catching dessert sandwiches are often made with milk bread, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. Sando are slowly gaining popularity in the U.S. in recent years.
The sandwiches are made with Japanese milk bread and original whipped cream flavored by ShareTea’s teas. Each sando slice is topped with Sharetea’s tapioca pearls.
In total, each sando set will include three finger sandwich and one Sharetea beverage for $15. Flavors of the set will include one slice of classic Japanese strawberry sando and two slices of boba sando. For the boba sando, choose between matcha cream or taro cream. Arrive early to ensure a set since quantities will be limited.
