My first hanami! Hanami refers to “flower viewing” usually referring to the viewing of cherry blossoms (sakura) in Japan. I am never able to visit Japan in spring, so I finally caught the Japanese cherry blossom trees blossoming at Hermann Park’s Japanese Garden here in Houston!

Houston is generally too hot for the cherry trees to thrive, so it must take a great amount of work for them to bloom here. The Japanese Garden at Hermann Park has approximately 10 trees, but there is currently only 1 large one. The other ones are still young. The variety in the park is called Okame flowering cherry tree.
It was me and my dog Latte’s first time ever seeing sakura in person, so we had a little photoshoot together!

I think he enjoyed the smell. It is every weeb’s dream to see the sakura in real life, me included.

I kind of hate being photographed with green, so the color editing is a bit stylized because of that.

I was actually dressed for a restaurant thing, but the flowers just happened to bloom that day. How lucky was I?!
Unfortunately, the brutal Texas sun came out and I couldn’t get a great full body shot with the blossoms. Fortunately, I had already taken an outfit picture in the day.

What I’m wearing
- Head
- Atelier Pierrot Rose Veil Headband
- Top
- Atelier Pierrot Shirring Princess Sleeve Blouse
- Bottom
- Marble Short Front Long Back Skirt
- offbrand black tights
- Shoes
- Fluevog Cubist Cupcake Boots
- Accessories
- Atelier Pierrot novelty lace choker
- Enchantlic Enchantilly Ribbon Corset
This outfit consisted of a bunch of things I hadn’t worn yet. That included the blouse, skirt, and headband. All the lace from Atelier Pierrot looks lovely together.

I was happy to finally see sakura in real life! Hope to see more of it in the future.
