Casual Punk Lolita Outfit with Biker Jacket for Bubble Tea

With a Chinatown so large, Houston’s bubble tea scene is booming. Sometimes it feels like every other shopfront is a bubble tea shop. Of course, as a Vietnamese American, a lolita fashion wearer, and a food blogger, I’ve tried almost every shop. After extensive research and consumption, Tea Top has been in the #1 tea house in my book for a long time!

Tea Top

Tea Top is from Taiwan and was founded in 2006. The first Houston location opened in 2018 and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. They have 2 Houston locations: one in Katy Asiantown and one in Dun Huang Plaza off of Bellaire Blvd. Their drinks are always consistent and the assortment of teas they carry tastes top notch.

When I drink boba, I mainly care about the tea. I don’t normally like sinkers, but when I do add them, I always get the mini tapioca pearls or grass jelly. My regular order in Sun Moon Lake black tea with sea salt foam, 0% sugar, and regular ice or the Golden Daylily cold brew tea bottle. My favorite topping in general is actually sea salt foam and Tea Top’s has the perfect consistency.

In 2019, Tea Top TX introduced a rose foam topping that blew my taste buds away. I’m a sucker for anything rose flavored, so it really hit the spot. Unfortunately, it was a limited time offering, so I was heartbroken when it was gone. Good news though! Tea Top TX just brought back the rose foam for winter 2020. The rose foam pairs well with the Signature Alpine green tea and the Earl Grey black tea.

Giveaway (Ended)

For the holidays, I’ve tea-med up with Tea Top Houston to give away one of the exclusive Tea Top Taiwan x Powerpuff Girls collaboration lunch bags + one rose foam drink of your choice! The collaboration bags are licensed only in Taiwan, so they are not available to purchase in the U.S. The bag features some very cute art of the Powerpuff Girls with matching tea cups with their respective colors. On one side, it features the iconic “sugar, spice, and everything nice” recipe. The bag is insulated which is perfect for transporting boba!

Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. I was a huge Cartoon Network watcher as a kid. Based on my style, who do you think my favorite Powerpuff Girl would be? If you guessed Buttercup, it’s not her. My favorite is actually Bubbles since I relate to her the most personality-wise and my favorite color is blue.

Punk Lolita Outfit

For this outfit, I went with a casual punk lolita look based around the faux leather biker jacket I just bought. The purchase was inspired by video game character Takayuki Yagami, the protagonist of Judge Eyes/Judgment by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios. This is actually the first time I wore my short natural hair without adding any part wigs in a lolita coord.
