Anime Weekend Atlanta 2023, the south’s largest anime convention, took place at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel & Cobb Galleria Centre from October 26-October 29. For anime conventions, the biggest fashion related events are usually the fashion show and tea party. On Saturday, the fashion show featuring Atelier Pierrot and Devilish Angel took place. On Sunday, the tea party hosted by the Atlanta lolita community filled out one of the main panel rooms.

The theme for this lolita tea party was “autumn garden.” Floral arrangements filled the room with interesting sights. Near the front of the room, there was a letter arrangement that spelled out AWA. On the side, a large floral wall was there for a photo opportunities. On the tables, the food sat readily on tiered trays ready to be eaten. Each attendee also received an Atelier Pierrot postcard. The room was filled with lolitas!

It was a standard tea party format. Attendees spent the first part of the event enjoying the the food and dessert.
Tea party fun and games

Each seat also had a gift bag with a stationary set of a pen, letter with a door game, can badge, and sticky notes. The pen and game were used for the tea party game. It was a really unique choose your own adventure game!

The organizers talked us through a scenario involving lolita shopping. At each decision point, there was a choice between a few options. Depending what you picked, your end result changed. It was really fun!
Each of the brand guests got to choose some of their favorite coordinates for a prize. Gabihime of Devilish Angel chose this coord featuring a very soft looking kemono fursuit head.

Connie chose these two winners. They both wore Atelier Pierrot, of course.

Outfit Snaps
Since I didn’t have any floral main pieces, I focused on the night aspect with a kuro lolita coordinate. For my outfit, I went for the theme of raven or crow in the night by incorporating moons, stars, and feathers accessories. I wanted to pack light for this trip, so I packed my Mini Corset OP.

After we all ate toasts and desserts, I walked around to take attendee snaps! There was a good mix of sweet, classic, and gothic lolitas.

Connie wore the Atelier Pierrot grey Decay Gauze JSK with a lot of fall themed accessories. Gabihime wore a dashing Alice and the Pirates ouji outfit.

The floral wall was really a stunner for people to take photos with.

What do you call a group of gothic lolitas? Gaggle? Hoard?

These goldfish hair accessories were breathtaking!

Tea parties are a special place; they’re a place where lolita fashion lovers can convene to start new friendships or form stronger bonds!

At the end, I walked past this real usakumya holding a cursed usakumya replica bag. Please, someone put it out of its misery.

Overall, the tea party was really laid back and chill. I had a pleasant time taking photos of everyone. I even got to test out a new camera flash here. Until next time, Atlanta!
